Correction and clarification In an article that ran in the October 14 issue of The South Reporter entitled “City leaders discuss policies” there is an error. The board of aldermen authorized a study by an attorney of the current employees’ policies and procedures manual. The issues discussed at the board meeting covered in that article have not been adopted by the board, said city clerk Belinda McDonald. The policies and procedures discussed by the mayor and board are under review for any changes the aldermen may recommend before the revisions are authorized. Overtime hours are not paid to an employee unless the department they work in is budgeted for overtime and/or the overtime is approved by the department head, McDonald said. |
