Rural Development recognized Jimmy W. Cross, area specialist, for his 31 years of service with USDA. Cross
was most recently servicing Marshall, Lafayette, and Yalobusha Counties
and has been instrumental in providing housing in those areas. Through Rural Development many families have obtained affordable subsidized loans through through the 502 loan program. Elderly
and disabled households have been assisted in making needed repairs at
little or no cost to those individuals utilizing the 504 Loan and Grant
program. Moderate income families have been
assisted with loans at reasonable rates and terms and no down payment
through the Guaranteed program. A reception in honor of Cross was held at the USDA Service Center in Oxford on January 14. Trina
George, Mississippi State director for Rural Development, presented
Cross with a service plaque and pen. Also, André DeBerry, mayor of
Holly Springs, presented Cross with a plaque of appreciation from the
city. Many family, co-workers, retirees and
friends attended the event in recognition of Cross and to wish him the
best for his retirement. |
