Authorities
caught up with Latrell Wilson, 20, who escaped from the Marshall County
Courtroom Tuesday of last week, in less than 24 hours, according to
sheriff Kenny Dickerson. Wilson will not be staying in the
county jail long. Dickerson said he is being sent to Rankin County
where the Mississippi Department of Corrections will take over the

Homeowner faces off with escapee By SUE WATSON Staff Writer Lisa
Liddy had just gotten home from a shopping trip in her husband’s truck
and left the door open, unlocked the back door to her house on Gholson
Avenue and put her purse and keys on the kitchen table. She
went back out to unload the truck when she was surprised by Latrell
Wilson, a 20-year-old who had just escaped from the courtroom at the

Child dies in accident A student at Mary Reid Elementary School was killed in an automobile accident Friday. Blake
Hopkins, 6, died in the one-car wreck at 3:09 p.m. on Highway 349,
about one mile south of Potts Camp, according to coroner James Richard
Anderson. He said Hopkins was a passenger in a Ford Escort and was
ejected from the vehicle. Anderson said the 16-year-old driver of the car lost control and it overturned. Another passenger in the automobile, Hopkins’ sister Bayley, was airlifted to LeBonheur, he said.
