Sheriff’s department searches for escapee
Marshall County authorities were searching late Tuesday afternoon for a convicted criminal who escaped after his sentencing. Kelly McMillen with the sheriff’s department said Latrell Wilson, 20, of the Wall Hill Road area in Marshall County, was sentenced to 15 years, six suspended and nine to serve for burglary in circuit court Tuesday. “As we were taking him into custody, he fled on foot out of the courtroom,” McMillen said. The search Tuesday about 5 p.m., just before the newspaper’s press time, was focused in the Chulahoma Avenue area of Holly Springs. At nightfall Tuesday, teh search was focused on the Marianna Road area near Holly Springs. Check the website, www.southreporter.com, for updates. If not caught on Tuesday, McMillen said there will be a reward offered for information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s department, 252-1311. Update Escapee captured According to Sheriff Kenny Dickerson, Latrell Wilson was captured Wednesday morning about 11:15 in the Lewisburg area around Hwy 305 |
