Mid-South club hosts tournament
The Mid-South Jr. Bass Club held its sixth tournament of the 2010 season Saturday, August 14, at Pickwick Lake. Twenty-one boats came to the hot weather event loaded with cold drinks and high expectations of big Pickwick bass. Here are the results: Youth 6-14 – 1st, Colton Anderson, 12, Moscow, Tenn., 11.09 lbs.; 2nd, Ty Cox, 13, Guntown, 9.69 lbs.; 3rd, Breanna Long, 12, Moscow, Tenn., 8.82 lbs. Youth 15-18 – 1st, Garret Riles, 15, Potts Camp, 14.97 lbs.; 2nd-Wesley Anderson, 17, Moscow, Tenn., 13.31 lbs.; 3rd, Chad Mitchell, 17, Red Banks, 10.58 lbs. Adults Big Fish – 1st, Gary Riles, Potts Camp, 4.36 lbs. $200; 2nd, David Kemper, Olive Branch, 3.71 lbs; 3rd, Chris Morlok, Hernando, 2.79 lbs. All 23 youth participants received terrific prize bags from Strike King Lure Company of Collierville, Tenn., and guides to protecting our fish, courtesy of the Bass Federation (bass <http://federation.com>federation.com). Are you and the bass-angling youth in your family still sitting on the dock instead of participating in the largest, non-money based fishing event in the Mid-South? Join in on the fun and come to Arkabutla Lake September 18. Visitors may “try out” the MSJBC for a fee of $25.00 and fish as guests of the club. For more info check out http://www.kids-bassin.com or call Chris Morlok at 901-604-6274 |
