Sheriff seeks suspects
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary at the Sam’s Town grocery (formerly Marion’s) on Highway 7 South Sunday morning and a robbery at All American Cafe in Victoria Tuesday, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.
A suspect was caught on the store video camera during the Sam’s Town burglary. It took place around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, he said, prior to the store’s opening.
“The suspect took an undetermined amount of cash, lots of cigarettes and other items,” Dickerson said.
Anyone who has information in connection with this incident or who recognizes the photograph of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-729-2169 or the sheriff’s department at 662-252-1311. The caller may remain anonymous.
In an unrelated robbery Tuesday, the owner of All American Cafe was robbed just after she opened her business to begin cooking breakfast, according to the sheriff. He said it was between 4:30 a.m. and 5 a.m. when a man entered the cafe behind her to her surprise.
There was a brief struggle between the owner and the suspect when the suspect took possession of the owner’s purse and escaped with it, he said.
Anyone who has information about this incident is asked to call Marshall County Crime Stoppers or the sheriff’s department.
