Herman Lee Bean
Herman Lee Bean, 54, of
Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Holly Springs, died July 25, 2010, at
Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He was a member of Kimbrough
Chapel MB Church and a packer with Express Contract Packing, Inc. Services
will be held at 10 a.m. on Aug. 4 at J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral
Home Chapel. Burial will be in Shelby County Cemetery in Memphis. He
leaves three sisters, Verna Bean, Evie Ambrose, Barbara Perkins, all of
Memphis, Tenn.; and a brother, Andrew Bean of Memphis, Tenn. LaKeith Demon Jones
LaKeith Demon (Ke Ke) Jones, 33, of Holly Springs, died July 27, 2010, in Waterford. He was a self-employed brick mason. Services
were held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 2 at Strawberry MB Church, where he was a
member. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Willie F. Jeffries
Jr. officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. He leaves his mother, Pearly Turner
Jones of Holly Springs; two children, NaChasity Hubbard, NaTalya Jones,
both of Holly Springs; six sisters, Leisa Williams of Horn Lake,
Barbara Bridgeforth of Holly Springs, Teresa McDaniel of Memphis,
Tenn., Patricia Houston-Lesure, Sandra Gillard, both of Holly Springs,
Bernice Taylor of North Carolina; nine brothers, Liniwood Turner, Jason
Jones, Jeffrey Jones, Jeremy Jones, LaMarcus Jones, all of Holly
Springs, LaCedric Houston, Corey Houston, both of Olive Branch, Cecil
Houston Jr., Herman Houston, all of Holly Springs. Emma Curry Emma Curry, 76, of Waterford, died July 29, 2010, at her home. She was a native of Marshall County and a foster grandparent at North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford. Services
were held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 2 at First Presbyterian Church in Oxford.
Burial was in Hamilton Chapel CME Church Cemetery in Waterford.
Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. She
leaves five daughters, Thelma Curry, Helen Scruggs, both of Oxford,
Rev. Belinda Curry of Louisville, Ky., Nancy Dillard of Potts Camp,
Clara Austin of Waterford; three sons, Terry Shaw of Aurora, Ill., John
Curry Jr. of Waterford, Leslie Curry of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters,
Vera Nunnally, Bobbie Barksdale, both of Chicago, Ill.; 16
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and First Presbyterian Church.
