Bougard, Fayne going to Olympics
• AAU event starts Friday in Virginia

Two Byhalia High School athletes, with the Memphis Mustang Track Club, received medals at the AAU National Track and Field Qualifying Meet July 8-11 at Hardin Valley Academy in Knoxville, Tenn.

Erica Bougard’s medals follow:

• 400 meter run – 56.63, silver medal

• Long jump – 18-6, silver medal

• Triple Jump – 39-04.25, gold medal

• Heptathlon – 4,658 points, gold medal.

Godfrey Fayne’s medals follow:

• 800 meter run – 2:00.48, bronze medal

• 1500 meter run – 4:20.90, bronze medal

• 2000 meter steeplechase – 6:41.83, bronze medal

• 4x400 meter relay – 3:29.49, gold medal.

Both Bougard and Fayne have advanced in all of their events to the AAU National Track and Field Junior Olympics being held on July 30-August 7 in Dick Price Stadium at Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Va.
