| Holly Springs police investigate burglaries Holly Springs police officers responded to reports of burglary, assault, grand larceny and other crimes from January 11-17. Chief Robert Pearson released the following report. On January 11, there was a report of disorderly conduct in the 100 block of North Walthall. There
was also a report of burglary of a dwelling in the 300 block of West
Park Street January 11. A 50-inch Sanyo flat screen television and a
PlayStation 3 were reported missing. Entry was gained through the back
door. Pearson said Jashunta Nicole Walker, 19, of Holly Springs, was
arrested in connection with the incident. Also on
January 11, there was a report of a burglary of a dwelling in the 100
block of West Woodward Avenue. The following items were taken – a JCV
stereo, 32-inch LCD television, two DVD players and approximately 20
DVDs. There were no signs of forcible entry. On
January 12, there was a report of petit larceny in the 500 block of
South Center Street. Reported missing were five car radiators and three
car batteries. A shoplifter was reported January 12 in the 100 block of West College Avenue. On January 13, there was a report of a simple assault in the 100 block of North Walthall. A
burglary of a dwelling was reported January 13 in the 300 block of Van
Dorn. One 9mm 38-caliber handgun was reported missing. Entry was gained
through a shattered bedroom window. On January 15, a grand larceny was reported in the 300 block of Cedar Drive. A vehicle was reported stolen. On January 16, a shoplifter was reported in the 100 block of Van Dorn. A petit larceny was reported January 16 in the 300 block of MLK. Several prescription medications were stolen. Officers
also reported the following activities last week – speeding, 3; no
driver’s license, 2; no proof of insurance, 4; careless driving, 1;
driving while license suspended, 3; unlawful passing (stopped school
bus), 1; child restraint violation, 1; disregard for traffic device, 2;
failure to maintain control of vehicle, 1; driving without head lights,
1; DUI (1st offense), 3; possession of marijuana, 1; contempt of court,
2; domestic violence-simple assault, 1; malicious mischief, 1;
disorderly conduct, 1; littering, 1.
