Police respond to burglaries, more Thirteen
incidents were investigated by Holly Springs police officers for the
week ending July 19, according to chief Robert Pearson. Sunday, July 11 • trespassing and simple assault by threat were reported in the 100 block of Park Avenue. •
a burglary of a dwelling was reported in the 300 block of Salem Ave.
Missing were several valuable pieces of jewelry, a Wii game and 25 Wii
games. Tuesday, July 13 • a telephone harassment was reported in the 200 block of Walthall. Wednesday, July 14 • a simple assault was reported in the 300 block of Oakwood Cove. • a simple assault was reported in the area of Neeley. Thursday, July 15 •
a petit larceny was reported in the 200 block of Slayden. A purse
containing a wallet and several personal items, two cell phones and one
pair of shoes was stolen. • a shoplifting was reported in the 500 block of Craft Street. Friday, July 16 •
a burglary of a dwelling was reported in the 900 block of Highway 4.
Three drills, a saw, a leaf blower, a jig saw, a hedge trimmer, a nail
gun, a box of nails and a tool box containing assorted tools were taken. Saturday, July 17 • a simple assault was reported in the area of Van Dorn Avenue. • a burglary of a dwelling was reported in the 100 block of West Woodward. A 19-inch television and a purse were stolen. • a petit larceny was reported in the 100 block of Clarice Drive. A license plate was stolen. • an assault was reported in the 100 block of Park Avenue. • police arrested Sammy James Jones, 26, on felony domestic assault, according to Chief Pearson. Officers
reported these additional activities - speeding, 7; driving while
license suspended, 2; no license, expired license, 2; disregard for
traffic device, 1; careless driving, 1; improper parking, 3; no proof
of insurance, 3; DUI, 1; other, 1.
