Teenagers at last...

Get well wishes go out to Becky Cupp, who had her knee replaced last week. Hope you’re back up 100 percent soon!

Two very nice young ladies celebrated monumental birthdays last weekend - Maura Jane Autry and Mattie Spencer. Both had wonderful parties, ringing in the fact that they are truly now teenagers. Happy 13th birthday, girls!

Donnie Miller and his family of Collierville, and Steve Gresham and his family spent the weekend in Pickwick for the Fourth of July. Donnie, Lisa, Ann Elizabeth and Joseph Miller, Steve, Mindy, Steven, Masey and Ellen Gresham and Houston Dodson spent the long holiday weekend together. Steve and Donnie played in the annual Iuka Country Club member/guest golf tournament. They have been playing in the tournament for 15 years. Sunday afternoon, Sassy and Joey Miller joined the group and enjoyed boating and cooking out.

Malone, Dowdy to say vows Saturday, July 17, at Strawberry MB Church

Magnolia Malone and John Lee Dowdy

The children of Magnolia Malone of Holly Springs, are pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of their mother to John Lee Dowdy of Lamar.

She is the mother of Earlean Robinson of Hickory Flat, Stephanie Taylor of Holly Springs, Effie Gray of Aurora, Ill., James, Anthony, Conniel, David, Kenneth and Robert Malone.

The bride-elect is the second generation of a six-generation family (all living). She is a retired cook and a member of Strawberry MB Church.

The prospective groom is a retired construction worker and a member of Hudsonville CME Church.

The wedding ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Strawberry MB Church, Hwy. 311 North.

A reception will follow at 5 p.m. at the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Center on Memphis Street in Holly Springs.

Everyone is cordially invited to attend.

Birth announcement

Yeager

Jackie Yeager and Vickie Scott, of Waterford, are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Sophie Faye Ann Yeager; born Father’s Day, June 20, 2010. She weighed six pounds and 12 ounces.

She is welcomed home by big sister Gabby Scott and grandparents, Doris and William Mangrum and Hank and Norma Yeager.
