Suspect arrested in store robbery
By SUE WATSON
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Marshals announce the arrest of one of three suspects thought to be responsible for the armed robbery of the Dollar General store in Potts Camp June 19.
One of the suspects was picked up on a July 1 arrest warrant issued by justice court judge Eugene Brown, he said. The suspect is in custody in Montgomery, Ala., and awaiting extradition to Marshall County, according to the sheriff.
“The suspect was taken into custody by Montgomery authorities and U.S. Marshals,” Dickerson said.
Two other suspects are being sought by the sheriff’s department and U.S. Marshals but have not yet been apprehended, he said.
Dickerson withheld the identity of the suspect in custody until the investigation is completed and the additional suspects have been arrested.
The store at 21 Homan Road was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect forced the clerk, two employees and five other people to lie down in the floor while he took money out of the safe and cash registers, according to an earlier report. The suspect left the store on foot, according to witnesses, and was picked up by two females in a small black car.
