Store robbed at gunpoint By SUE WATSON Staff Writer A
$1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest
and conviction of a suspect who robbed Dollar General in Potts Camp,
according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson. A black
male subject entered the store at 21 Homan Road around 8:24 p.m. on
Saturday, June 19, and walked back and forth and talked on a cell phone
until about 9:03 p.m., according to the sheriff. Then the suspect
forced the clerk, two employees and five other people at gunpoint to
lie down in the floor while he took money out of the safe and cash
registers, Dickerson said. The suspect left the store on foot, according to witnesses, and was picked up by two females in a small black car. “We
were able to locate a handgun, and the suspect’s ball cap and shirt
across the road from the store in tall grass,” Dickerson said. Anyone
with information is asked to call Marshall County Crime Stoppers
(800-729-2169) or Kelly McMillen at the sheriff’s department
(662-252-1311). Callers will remain anonymous and their information
will be kept strictly confidential. In a separate incident, a Byhalia man was stabbed multiple times Friday, June 18, at his home by an acquaintance. Kenneth
Lee Bonnacci, 35, of 420 Park Avenue, Omaha, Nebraska, was taken into
custody and charged with stabbing a man who lives on Scenic Drive in
Byhalia, Dickerson said. The victim was airlifted to the Memphis Med
and later released and is recovering from multiple stab wounds to the
side and back area. Bonnacci is being held at the jail on $100,000 bond.
