Highway dedication Thursday in honor of John W. Shaw Sr.
The “John W. Shaw Sr. Memorial Highway” dedication ceremony has been scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, June 24, at Wall Doxey State Park, 3946 Highway 7 South, Holly Springs.
The public is invited to attend.
House Bill 598 passed unanimously by the entire Legislature – designating a segment of U.S. Highway 310 in Marshall County as the “John W. Shaw, Sr., Memorial Highway.” The segment to be dedicated begins at the intersection of U.S. Highway 7 and extends south to the Lafayette County line.
The Mississippi Department of Transportation will erect and maintain the appropriate signs along and approaching the designated segment in memory of John W. Shaw Sr.
Northern District Transportation Commissioner Bill Minor, State Senator Bill Stone and additional state and local officials will participate in the ceremony.
“In his honor and with gratitude and love, we will dedicate this section of U.S. Highway 310 in Marshall County in memory of John W. Shaw Sr.,” Minor said.
