Kirkwood hosts Lewis Clark Memorial  | First place

Thirty-six
players participated in the Lewis Clark Sr. Memorial Invitational held
at Kirkwood National Golf Club, Holly Springs, on May 22-23. The
tournament was held in honor of Clark, who passed away last November.
Prizes were awarded to winners in four divisions for this two-day
tournament. Ken Hogue placed first in the Super
Senior Division (ages 63 plus) with a combined score of 141. Kirkwood
National member Raymond Owen of Potts Camp placed second with a 155
combined score and Charles Alexander placed third with a 172 combined
score. In the Senior Division (ages 50 - 62)
Billy Morgan placed first with a 161. In a scorecard playoff, Kirkwood
National members Sam Wilson of Potts Camp and Rick DeBardeleben of
Byhalia, placed second and third, respectively, with combined scores of
165. Prizes were awarded in two flights in the
Open Division. First place in the First Flight went to Vaughn Crawford
with a 164, who won in a scorecard playoff, and second place went to
Allan Larson. Brad Pugh turned in a 166 to place third. Rickey
Riley was the overall winner in the Championship Flight with a 148
combined score. Ed McDugle placed second with a 149 and Jason Saenger
placed third with a 152. Thanks to everyone who
played and worked on making this a great tournament. Kirkwood National
Golf Club is looking forward to another great tournament next year. |
