Important to
take part in 2010 Census
The
Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office has received several calls from
concerned residents who have not yet received their 2010 Census form.
Secretary
of State Delbert Hosemann encourages all Mississippians to make sure
they are counted.
“Taking
part in the 2010 Census is one of the most important things you can do
this year,” Hosemann said. “We need to make sure Mississippi receives
its fair share of federal funding by completing the census.”
According
to the Census Bureau, the 2010 Census will help communities receive
more than $400 billion dollars each year in federal funding.
“Currently,
approximately 67 percent of Mississippians have filled out their census
forms, compared to 72 percent nationally,” Hosemann said. “We want to
make sure every Mississippian is counted.”
If
you
have not received or misplaced your 2010 Census form, there is still
time to ensure you are counted by calling the Census Bureau toll free
at 1 (866) 872-6868.

more information, you
