Indians, Lady Indians place in top four at north half meet

Several Byhalia athletes moved on to the Class 4A State Track and Field Meet, thanks to a strong showing at North State.

There were three first-place finishes, one by Megan Rayford and two by Godfrey Fayne.

The Lady Indians and Indians advancing to state placed in the top four at the north meet May 8 in Pontotoc.

• Girls 100 meter hurdles – second, Megan Rayford, 16.21.

• Girls 300 meter hurdles – first, Megan Rayford, 49.36.

• Girls 4x100 meter relay – third, Erica Bougard, Latara Jones, Megan Rayford, Briana Wells, 51.45.

• Girls 4x200 meter relay – second, Erica Bougard, Latara Jones, Megan Rayford, Briana Wells, 1:45.92.

• Girls 4x400 meter relay – third, Destiny Jones, Amber Kimbrough, Latrese Akins, Erica Bougard, 4:26.94.

• Girls long jump – second, Erica Bougard, 18-11.

• Girls triple jump – third, Latrese Akins, 33-10.

• Boys 800 meter run – first, Godfrey Fayne, 2:05.

• Boys 1600 meter run – first, Godfrey Fayne, 4:49.

• Boys 110 meter hurdles – third, Labrandon Walker, 16.10.

• Boys 4x200 meter relay – fourth, Andre Collins, Labrandon Walker, Tedrick Moore, Labradford Rayford, 1:33.58.

• Boys 4x400 meter relay – second, Labradford Rayford, Andre Collins, Labrandon Walker, Godfrey Fayne, 3:35.23.

The 4A state meet started Saturday but was not completed due to rain. It was scheduled to resume Monday.
