Business After Hours slated for ThursdayThe Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce will host a “Business After Hours” on Thursday, May 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
It will be held “On the Veranda” at the Court Square Inn Bed & Breakfast, 132 East College Avenue.

Cayce Fire Department receives $55,710 grant
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded $126,810 in Assistance to Firefighters Grant funding to local fire departments throughout Mississippi’s First Congressional District, Congressman Travis Childers announced last week.
“These funds are critical to ensuring the safety of North Mississippi families,” Childers said. “FEMA’s investment in our local communities will help provide our fire departments with the equipment and resources they need to keep North Mississippi safe.”
First District AFG grant recipients include:
• Cayce Volunteer Fire Department, Byhalia - $55,710, Vehicle Acquisition.
The purpose of the AFG program is to award grants directly to fire departments and non-affiliated emergency medical service organizations.
Man found dead after search in Red Banks
The body of a Red Banks man was found 900 yards from his house in a field Friday by Search and Rescue Teams with Marshall and Benton counties, according to coroner James Richard Anderson.
Sennett Lawrence (Larry) Watkins, 52, of 213 Watkins Road, Red Banks, was discovered missing from home around 11:30 a.m. May 14, the coroner said. Search teams began looking for Watkins at 4:30 p.m. the same day and his body was found at 9:30 p.m. Friday, he said.
Anderson said Watkins had died of natural causes and had epilepsy.
