| Police investigate assault, more The Holly
Springs Police Department investigated 10 incident reports last week
and made one arrest, according to chief Robert Pearson. They included the following incidents. An assault on two correctional officers at the Marshall County Correctional Facility was reported January 4. A malicious mischief incident was reported in the 200 block of Johnson Park January 5. A fence was found damaged. A fence was damaged in the area of Spring Hollow Walking Trail January 6. A rear window of an automobile was shattered in the 300 block of Van Dorn Avenue January 6. A simple assault-domestic violence incident was reported in the 100 block of West Woodward Avenue January 6. A family disturbance in the 300 block of Cuba Street was reported January 7. A burglary of an automobile was reported in the 200 block of West
Chulahoma January 7. The dashboard was damaged and a Pioneer stereo
with CD player was missing. Two shoplifters were reported in the 900 block of Mackie Drive January 8. A man was arrested following a domestic violence-aggravated assault
call in the 600 block of Colonial Drive January 9. Kalvin Turner, 19,
of Holly Springs, was arrested and charged in the incident, according
to Pearson. A petit larceny was reported in the 600 block of Highway 7 South January 9.
Officers
reported these additional activities for the week - speeding, 5; no
driver’s license, 2; no tag/expired tag, 3; tint law (too dark), 1;
public drunk, 1; contempt of court, 1; and domestic violence-simple
assault, 1.
