For
the second time, WESCO Distribution of Byhalia has been chosen by its
management for recognition as the Distribution Center of the Year. WESCO
is a Fortune 500 Company that has 400 locations globally to include
seven North American Distribution Centers. WESCO is a leading North
American distributor of products and provider of supply chain services
to their customers according to Steve Sturgeon, manager for the Byhalia
center. The electrical products are manufactured by many suppliers for
WESCO distribution and include suppliers like Thomas and Betts, 3M,
Crouse Hinds and Phillips Lighting. Byhalia was
chosen for the same recognition in 2004. Sturgeon said the Byhalia
center was chosen because of improvements in a number of categories
including productivity, expense management, and customer satisfaction. The
Byhalia center has 25 employees and ships products mainly to the
Southeastern region of the United States to such cities as Memphis,
Tenn.; Metarie, Louisiana; Nashville, Tenn.; and Houston, Texas. The
facility opened in 1992. Larry Mosier, vice
president of distribution, expressed joy in the accomplishments of the
Byhalia center. He complimented the employees on their focus on
customer service as well as operational efficiency. Employees were treated to lunch Thursday as well as other items of recognition by the company. |
