Remember storm victims
Our concerns over the weekend focused on fellow Mississippians in the path of destructive tornado activity.
We had watched the weather throughout the week – anticipating the storms. Marshall County managed to escape the worst of the turbulent weather.
Close to Nowhere
From Paducah to Houston
Some might say there’s such a thing as “quilt overload.” Don’t believe them!
Jane and I dragged in Sunday afternoon from our annual trip to the quilt capitol of the world, Paducah, Ken. We were broke, exhausted, bedraggled and already planning our next few quilt trips.
The Preacher’s Corner
The same key did not fit all the locks!
The workers are still over at our church, and yesterday one of them was accidentally locked in the building. That being the case, I told him you are really not part of our congregation unless you’ve been locked in the church at some time or another — and I am not referring to the “captive audience” that has to endure the sermon on Sunday morning. The doors are fully unlocked then, and people can (and do) come and go as they please.
Wicker emphasizes importance of arts education
By U.S. Senator
On April 10, I had the opportunity to hear a series of concerts given by elementary, junior high, and high school honor choirs, comprised of talented young singers from all over Mississippi.
Letter To The Editor
Thanks for support:
The children and youth at Chewalla Baptist Church would like to thank everyone for their support at the bake sale on April 17 on the square in Holly Springs.
God has truly blessed us.
Please take time to remember our local “heroes” who are serving in war zones around the world.
