The Marshall Academy baseball team clinched its fourth consecutive District 1-AA crown, sweeping Kirk Academy last week and finishing with an unblemished 12-0 mark in district play.
The Patriots look toward the Class AA state playoffs which begin Tuesday, April 20.
Cardinals fly over rival Byers

The Lions and Cardinals met Friday in the rubber match of the current season. Potts Camp and H.W. Byers had faced each other before on March 23. The Cardinals came out winners in that game.
Ex-Lion on ABA championship squad

A former standout basketball star for the H.W. Byers Lions is now a part of the Southeast Texas Mavericks of the American Basketball Association and helped the Mavs win the ABA championship March 28 at the Parker Multi-Purpose Center in Port Arthur, Texas.

The Byhalia High School baseball team dropped a pair of 10-run games to district opponent Center Hill last week.
Lady Cards lose three
The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals had a busy week.
On Monday, April 5, the Lady Cards started their week facing Ingomar. This was a game that the Lady Cardinals couldn’t get going in their favor.
Taking the mound for the Lady Cardinals for the first two innings was Alaken McNeer. Pitching the last three innings was Kayla Yarbrough.
Hawk boosters meet Mondays
The Holly Springs High School Football Booster Club is meeting every Monday at 6 p.m. in the library.
Marcus Autry, new head coach of the Hawks, urges all Holly High supporters to attend and get involved with the Booster Club.
