The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals finally had the chance to play at home last week. On Tuesday, March 30, the Lady Cardinals met the West Union Lady Eagles. It was Potts Camp’s first division game of the season. In the first inning, the Lady Eagles scored two runs and the Lady Cardinals answered with one run in the bottom of the first. The
fourth inning proved to be the highlight for the Lady Cardinals. The
Eagles had the bases loaded with two outs when West Union’s D. Taylor
hit a long fly ball to right field. The Cardinals’ Kaitlyn Skelton made
a beautiful catch to end the inning. West Union went on to win the contest 5-1. Kayla Yarbrough pitched for the Lady Cardinals with Jasmine Houston catching. Yarbrough had 11 strikeouts in a losing effort. Yarbrough also scored Potts Camp’s only run. The
Lady Cardinals hosted Tremont Thursday. It was another beautiful day

McNeer was the pitcher for the afternoon with Megan Watkins catching.
It was a great game for the Lady Cardinals as they scored in every
inning. Scoring were Yarbrough, Ashton Gandy, McNeer, and Macy Watkins.
The Lady Cardinals had several RBI’s Potts Camp won 8-3. McNeer had 10 strikeouts to take the mound win. Potts
Camp has a busy week this week. They play division games on Monday
April 5, at Ingomar, then against Myrtle on the road Thursday April 8,
at 5 p.m. The Lady Cardinals will host the Booneville Blue Devils Saturday, April 10, at noon. |
