Marshall JV teams place third Marshall Academy junior varsity track teams placed third in home meet to kick off the season March 24. The JV Lady Patriots (35) narrowly trailed first-place Tupelo Christian (39) and second-place Kirk (37) when points were totalled. Magnolia Heights dominate the JV boys competition with 75 points. Next were Kirk at 31 and Marshall at 29. Junior varsity girls • 800 meter relay, first, Wesleyann Ray, Kateria Moore, Elizabeth Skelton, Lori Simpson, 2:02.53. • 400 meter relay, first, Ray, Moore, Skelton, Simpson, 58.51. • 100 meter hurdles, third, Ray, 23.82. • 100 meter dash, first, Simpson, 13.84. • 1600 meter run, fifth, MC Hutchens, 8:38. • 200 meter dash, third, Elizabeth Skelton, 31.13. • 800 meter run, fifth, Erika Sweet, 3:39. • 1600 meter relay, third, Ray, Kara Novarese, Simpson, Skelton, 5:35. • 400 meter dash, first, Novarese, 1:14. JV boys • 300 meter hurdles, fourth, Dustin Allen, 58.02. • 800 meter relay, second, Dakota Dailey, Aaron McAlexander, John Wesley Ray, Chase Smith. • 400 meter relay, second, Dailey, McAlexander, Ray, Smith, 51.39. • 110 meter hurdles, third, McAlexander, 23.12. • 100 meter dash, fourth, Smith, 12.82. • 200 meter dash, fourth, Smith, 27.82. • 800 meter run, fifth, Devin McGregor, 3:59. • 1600 meter run, fifth, Brian Novarese, 6:25. • 400 meter dash, first, Smith, 59.87. • 1600 meter relay, second, Ray, Novarese, Smith, McAlexander, 4:28. Varsity girls, boys Callie Clanton placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.20. The Marshall Patriots were the only varsity boys squad competing in the warm-up meet. |
