Little Miss Rossville crown for Rossville Academy was won by Constance
Rice of Slayden. She is the daughter of Rodney and Sonya Rice. The
Little Duke of Rossville crown was won by Aaron Lykens, also of
Slayden. He is the son of Chris and Crystal Lykens. 25 Years Ago - March 28, 1985 Fire destroys Garden Room The
Garden Room Restaurant and Lounge on Higdon Road was destroyed by early
morning fire on Saturday, according to Fire Chief Joe Fant. When
firemen reached the blaze, the building was completely burned to the
ground. No occupants were present in the building. Spelling bee champions Vel
Anthony, a seventh grader at Henry Jr. High School, and Carole Kloha, a
seventh grader at Marshall Academy, were champions in the recent
Marshall County spelling bee. Vel won first place and Carole won second
place. 50 Years Ago - March 31, 1960 Former Holly Springs girl graduates in nursing Jan.
22, 1960, was a happy day for Mary Emma Whaley Rahe, who graduated from
the Hermann Hospital School of Nursing in Houston, Texas. This was a
realization of a life-long dream. Immediately after graduation, she
