David Lynn Culver
David Lynn Culver, 58, of Waterford, died March 15, 2010 at his home. He was a factory worker and a member of Holly Hill Baptist Church.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 17 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Culver Family Cemetery in Waterford. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two sons, David Allen Culver of Stanton, Tenn., David Cody Culver of Waterford; a daughter, Rebecca Culver of New Albany; his mother, Annie Evelyn (Dempsey) Culver; two brothers, Clyde Culver, Calvin Culver, both of Waterford; three sisters, Marie Palmer, Faye Holland, both of Waterford, Sandra Wilson of Mt. Pleasant; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Inez Culver; and two brothers, Leon Culver, Lester Culver.
Earl E. Daniel
Earl E. Daniel, 79, of Ashland, died March 18, 2010 in Holly Springs. He was a retail milk distributor and an Army veteran.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on March 20 at Ashland Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial was in the Ashland Cemetery. Bro. Randy Crews officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Carolyn Daniel; two sons, Mark Daniel of Collierville, Tenn., Don Daniel of Ashland; two daughters, Jeannie Burton of Michigan City, Susan Daniel of Ashland; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Conn Daniel, Logan Daniel, Jerry Thompson, Stephen Daniel, Joey Burton and Mitch Carroll.
Coretta Lavern Hudson
Coretta Lavern Hudson, 40, of Holly Springs, died March 14, 2010 at her home. She was a 1988 graduate of Ashland High School.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 20 at Miracle Temple Salt & Light Ministries in Lamar, where she was a member. Burial was in the church cemetery. N.L. Jones & Son Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves two sons, Walter R. Hudson of Lamar, Michael Martin of Mt. Pleasant; her parents, Walter and Fannie Hudson; six sisters, Sharon Holbert, Pattie Blanchard, Connie Campbell, Latoya Hudson, all of Lamar, Veronica Shine of Oahu, Hawaii, Kimberly Tallie of Lamar; two god sisters, Catrenia Williams, Tonya Stewart; and a god brother, Charles Reliford.
Eddie Mae Lucas
Eddie Mae Lucas, 57, of Holly Springs, died March 15, 2010 at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, Tenn. She was executive bookkeeper with Marshall County Sheriff’s Department in Holly Springs.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on March 20 at Rust College Doxey Auditorium. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Bro. Wesley Parham officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her mother, Wanda L. Taylor Lucas of Holly Springs; a brother, Eddie Lucas Jr. of Holly Springs; and four sisters, Debra Elliott of Olive Branch, Barbara Jones, Elena Lyons, Sharon Lucas Burns, both of Holly Springs.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Lucas Sr.; and a sister, Dorothy Lucas King.
Pallbearers were Marshall County Sheriff’s Department employees. Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Lucas Jr., Shawn Jefferson, Arthur King Jr., D.P. Lyons, Wayborn Johnson, Reggie Elliott, Robert Kizer, Antwan Thomas and Roderick Thomas.
Eugene Mosley, 96, of Coldwater, died March 15, 2010 at his home. He was the widower of Viola Davis Mosley. He was a farmer and a blacksmith.
Services were held at 12 noon on March 20 at New Zion Baptist Church in Senatobia. Burial was in Harris Chapel Church Cemetery. Rodgers Funeral Home, Coldwater, was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves five daughters, Hattie Street of Senatobia, Mattie Blackmond of Chicago, Ill., Dessie Akins, Katie Mae Caradine, both of Byhalia, Rosie Lee Jones of Detroit, Mich.; three sons, U.Z. Mosley, Eldridge Mosley, both of Senatobia, Robert Wilson of Byhalia; 70 grandchildren, 125 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
Waymon Terrell Ray
Waymon Terrell (W.T.) Ray, 65, of Ashland, died March 19, 2010 at his home. He was a truck driver and an antique dealer.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on March 21 at Hopewell Cemetery in Walnut. Bro. Michael Bryant officiated. McBride Funeral Home in Ripley was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Brenda Martindale Ray; his mother, Willie Mae Brown Ray of Ripley; a daughter, Patricia Jordan of Tupelo; a son, Michael Ray of Ashland; a stepdaughter, Jeannie Martindale of Walnut; a stepson, Lonnie Hurt of Ashland; three sisters, Gracie Bruner of Shreveport, Ala., Lois McDonald, Margie McCallum, both of Ashland; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Don Bruner, Lonnie Hurt, Charles McDonald, Terry Scroggins, John McKaughan, Don Jeans and Gary Jordan.
Samuel (Buck) Shaw, 73, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Waterford, died March 15, 2010 at his home. He was the widower of Bertha Marion Shaw. He was a member of New Hope MB Church in Laws Hill and a retired self-employed law care worker.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on March 20 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Keith Mason officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He leaves two daughters, Rose Bell of Olive Branch, Sharron M. Delaney of Memphis, Tenn.; five sons, Sebastian Marion, Shaun Mason, both of Memphis, Tenn., Keith Mason, Samuel Mason, both of Holly Springs, Kevin Marion of St. Peter, Mo.; three sisters, Emma Curry of Waterford, Vera Nunnally, Bobbie Barksdale, both of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Terry Shaw of Aurora, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen (Tan) Mason.
Pallbearers were Nicholas Mason, Shaun D. Mason II, Kevin C. Marion II, Robert Curry, Aaron Curry and Jeremy Curry. Honorary pallbearers were Keith T. Mason, Samuel D. Mason, Shaun D. Mason, Kevin C. Marion, Sebastian D. Marion, Terry L. Shaw, Keith T. Mason II and Sebastian D. Marion II.
Tai Lynn DeKadrian Wilson
Tai Lynn DeKadrian Wilson, stillborn, of Olive Branch, died March 15, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, Tenn.
Services were held at 12:30 p.m. on March 18 at New Community Baptist Church in Holly Springs. Burial was in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Elder Robert Stephens officiated. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her mother and father, LaKaydrian Wilson and Travis Harris; grandparents, KaWanda Wilson, Corettia Harris, Jarvis Lane; great-grandparents, Everton and Lucatheryn Grant and Joe Wilie and great-grandmother, Mandy Wilson.
Pallbearers were JaMoms Lane, Jalen Moffitt, Darion Johnson, Warren Moffitt Jr., JaMaun Lane, Dwight Harris, Michael Harris and Kilvin Wilson Jr.
