Jurnee Marion selected March of Dimes Ambassador
Jurnee Marion is the 2010 March of Dimes Ambassador child for the Memphis, Tenn., area March of Dimes. Jurnee was born May 30, 2008, almost three months early weighing one pound, 10 ounces. Jurnee is the daughter of Vicki Street Marion and Chaddrick Marion and the granddaughter of Donald and Helen Street and Andrea Marion, all of Holly Springs. She was born at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, (The MED). She stayed in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for almost three months. While in the NICU, Jurnee had several blood transfusions, jaundice, underwent surgery for a hernia, and had to have treatments and therapy for her broken arm that she acquired during birth. Throughout her time spent in the NICU, March of Dimes really stepped in and gave the family a sign of relief. March of Dimes was there every step of the way. From her birth, nearly 80 days passed before Jurnee was welcomed home by her family. Today she is a loving 1-1/2-year-old toddler who is walking, very active, and full of life. There is a team called “Jurnee’s Trek” and we are raising money in honor of Jurnee for “March for Babies.” March for Babies will be April 24 at Shelby Farms in Memphis. Your donations are greatly appreciated! You may send your donations to Vikki Marion at P.O. Box 5752, Holly Springs, MS 38634 (make all checks and money orders out to March of Dimes) or you may donate online at http://www.marchforbabies.org/jurneemarion and click on donate now. “Jurnee’s Trek” would like to thank you in advance. |
