Justin Nabors, a 6’7” forward at Lamar University, picked up second-team honors on the All-Southland Conference Team. The
senior finished as the Cardinals’ top scorer this season with 14.6
points per game. He made 51.2 percent of his field goals to rank 10th
in the conference. His 9.7 rebounds per outing led the conference. He
had a career-high 24 boards against Louisiana College on December 20,
2009, which were the second most in the NCAA all year and placed him
tied for the fourth most in a game in Lamar history. But
perhaps most impressively, he recorded 15 double-doubles this season.
That number led the conference and tied for 18th in Division I
basketball. He scored in double figures 24 times and registered
double-digit rebounds a league-best 16 times. Lamar ended its season with a 14-18 overall record. Both
Hannah and Nabors played for coach Naylond Hayes at Holly Springs High
School and helped lead the Hawks to back-to-back state championships in
2004 and 2005. |
