doesn’t matter when or where the teams in Marshall County meet, there
is going to be maximum interest and intrigue. And it almost always begs
for a larger facility. For the game between
H.W. Byers and Holly High Saturday, not only did they need a larger gym
they could have used a super parking lot. The crowd at Byers was

Streak ends for Lady Cards By BARRY BURLESON Editor The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals’ unbeaten streak to start the season ended last week in the “Battle of the Best” at Pontotoc. The Lady Cards, facing bigger schools, lost by three to the host school and by one to Senatobia. Their record went to 13-2. Full Story

Lady Indians go 2-2 in Dragon Fire By BARRY BURLESON Editor The Byhalia Lady Indians went 2-2 in the annual Dragon Fire Invitational Tournament at Collierville, Tenn., last week. All four games were tight, the largest margin being a nine-point win over Bartlett, Tenn. Head coach Markeith Washington’s squad opened the tourney with a 53-50 loss to the host school on Sunday evening, Dec. 27. Full Story
Hawks scorch Devils The Holly Springs Hawks closed out the old year with success. Coach
Naylond Hayes’ basketball squad blasted Booneville 60-44 on December 29
in the Blue Devils’ own tournament. The high-flying Hawks improved to
