January 7

• Meeting The Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library, 6 p.m. Everyone interested in becoming a member is invited to attend. Please bring paper and pencil as we will take notes on the basic food groups. Annie Bennette will be guest. Arts and crafts will be a Christmas picture. Refreshments will be served. New members are always welcome.

• Weight loss program Get fit for Jesus. The Ark of Safety Outreach Ministries, located in Red Banks, next to Meat Market, is starting a new weight loss program, Tuesday, January 5 at 6 p.m. Meetings will be every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. To sign up, contact Rhonda, 901-674-0267, or 662-544-3807. January 9

• Singing Marianna Baptist Church, with fellowship at 5 p.m. and singing at 6:15. Featured group will be Crossroad Ministry.

January 10

• Church installation Kimbrough Chapel will have a church installation, Jan. 10, 11 a.m., with speaker Rev. Jerry Williams and Reid’s Gift Church as guests. Host pastor, Rev. J.W. Smith Jr.

• 12 tribes of Israel Lamont Teamer CME Church, Jan. 10, in the 11 a.m. service. Speaker will be Rev. Nathaniel Griffin, Rising Star MB Church, St. Louis, Mo. Guest church, Mt. Olive MB Church, Potts Camp. The public is invited.

January 16

January 18

• Commemoration The Marshall County branch of the NAACP will sponsor their annual commemoration of the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a breakfast on Mon., Jan. 18, the legal holiday in honor of Dr. King. • Usher day The Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant will be having their annual Usher Day Program in the new church building at 3 p.m. Special guests will be Pastor Sylvester Hamilton and Miracle Temple COGIC of Victoria. Everyone is invited. Pastor is Elder Curtis Pritchard Sr.

• Recovery Meeting SOS Christian Recovery Ministries will host a group meeting Friday evenings at 6 p.m. The group’s primary focus is drug addiction, alcoholism and the affected families. There will be a group for family members to learn how to cope and heal from the destructive behavior of an addict or an alcoholic in the family. • CEMETERY MAINTENANCE Spring Hill Baptist Church has started a maintenance fund for cutting grass in the cemetery.
