Area job fair
is March 3 on Rust campus in Holly Springs
The
annual Marshall-Benton Area Job Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3,
at the McMillan Gym on the campus of Rust College.
Hours
are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Joe
Buckner, director of the Governor’s Job Fair Network, said
two things
will make the event successful – employers with real jobs and
applicants to show up.
This
is an excellent opportunity for companies to meet their employment
needs.
It
is open to job seekers from the general public as well as university,
college, and community college graduates.
There
is no admission fee.

Holly Springs
school board moves meeting to Feb. 12
The
regular meeting of the board of trustees of the Holly Springs School
District, normally held on the second Tuesday of each month, has been
scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m.
The
meeting will be held in the Holly Springs High School Library, 165
North Walthall Street.
Holly Springs
begins softball, baseball registration
The
Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department is holding registration
for youth baseball, softball, T-ball and coach-pitch for boys and girls
ages 3-14. Registration begins February 11 and continues until March 13.
Parents
may register their children at Holly Springs City Hall Monday through
Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There
is a $20 registration fee.

Mardi Gras
festivities raising funds for Byhalia Beautiful
Everyone
is invited to the annual Mardi Gras event in Byhalia on Saturday, Feb.
21.
Proceeds
benefit Byhalia Beautiful. Tickets are $20 each, which include favors,
beverage ticket and the “Taste of Chamber Fare.”
The
“Fun-raiser” will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at
the Thistledome
Inn, 118 Highway 309 South, in Byhalia. It will include a silent
auction, door prizes, king and queen costume contest, and music by Papa
McMinn and Night Train.
