The Lady Lions of H.W. Byers continued their winning ways Monday night, Dec. 14, against perennial foe Ingomar. The Lady Falcons usually give the Lady Lions a real test, but this one Byers solved easily. From
the tip, which fell into Lady Lions claws, the pace was slow.
Three-fourths of the quarter had expired and the score was knotted at
2. Byers didn’t appear to have its usual rhythm. The last couple of
minutes saw the Lady Lions finding some of their composure and finding
the bottom of the basket. They put up 14 unanswered points to leave the

Potts Camp Lady Cardinals, on the last official day of school before
the break, wrapped up an early holiday gift Friday night. They finished the pre-Christmas portion of their basketball schedule with an unbeaten record. “I’d say 13-0 is a pretty good Christmas present,” coach Tana Miller said. Full Story
Hawks dominate Wildcats, Devils By CLAUDE VINSON Sports Editor The Wildcats from Independence came to the Hawks’ home court Tuesday, Dec. 15, and left with a split. The
Lady Wildcats faced the Lady Hawks in the first game and the Lady Hawks
started things with a three-ball from RoShunda Neely. But very quickly,
Independence bounced back and went 7-3. Holly High also came back and
took the lead briefly at 9-8. Scant seconds later, the Lady ’Cats

Byhalia falls to visitors By BARRY BURLESON Editor Byhalia dropped a pair of Region 2-4A games December 14 at home to Center Hill. Coach Markeith Washington said his Lady Indians “came our really flat” and ended up losing 40-34 to the Lady Mustangs. The Byhalia girls had suffered a tough setback in overtime to Class 6A Olive Branch the Friday before. Full Story
