Leo Bogard
Leo Bogard, 67, of Holly Springs,
died Dec. 17, 2009 at Alliance HealthCare System. He was a church
deacon, a Sunday school superintendent, member of male chorus,
secretary of Marshall-Benton County Union and a retired factory worker
with Maury Manufacturing. Services were held at 1
p.m. on Dec. 22 at Powell Chapel MB Church, where he was a member.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Rev. Eddie L. Walker officiated.
J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He
leaves his wife, Arleaus Holloway Bogard; a daughter, Courtney Bogard
of Holly Springs; three sons, Terence Bogard of Memphis, Tenn., Corey
Bogard of Starkville, Colby Bogard of Holly Springs; two sisters,
Gertha LeSueur of Holly Springs, Natha Scurggs of Memphis, Tenn.; two
brothers, Rev. L.G. Bogard of Holly Springs, Douglas Bogard of Ashland;
and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Soul
Brothers Bass Club; Robert Tucker, Lindsey Jones, Roosevelt Cowan,
Walker Tucker, Winfred Jones, Greg Paige, Lonnie Applewhite and Jimmy
Henderson. Honorary pallbearers were Powell Chapel deacons, Patrick
Lesueur, Sylvester Rooks, Ricky Lesure, Wesley Pearson, Richard Jones
and his nephews. Jacqueline Mead Burandt Jacqueline
Mead Burandt, 87, of Beaumont, Tx., died Dec. 15, 2009 at her home. She
was the widow of Charles L. Burandt Sr. and a Baptist. Graveside
services were held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 19 at Burandt Family Cemetery in
Lafayette County. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. She leaves two sons, Charles
Burandt Jr., Jeffrey Burandt; a daughter, Cecile Burandt; 10
grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dewey Hardeman Pannell
Dewey
Hardeman Pannell, 87, of Holly Springs, died Dec. 18, 2009. He was a
Baptist, preacher, a veteran and also worked at Metal Craft, Wurlitzer
and Frehauf. Services were held at 2 p.m. on
Dec. 20 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Clear Creek
Cemetery. Bro. Don Labelle officiated. He leaves
his wife, Ruby Yeager Pannell; four daughters, Emma Davis of Mt.
Pleasant, Barbara Cook of Ashland, Wanda Clements of Somerville, Tenn.,
Mary Reissinger of Memphis, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. William Scott

Scott, 71, of Victoria, died Dec. 9, 2009 at Baptist Hospital in
Collierville, Tenn. He spent a large part of his life in the Chicago,
Ill., area and later retired from Morton Steel and relocated to
Byhalia. Services were held at 12 noon on Dec.
19 at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in St. Paul. MB Church
Cemetery in Byhalia. He leaves his wife,
Pauletta Scott; eight sons, Mims Greenwood, Michael Greenwood, both of
Chicago, Ill., Drew and Leroy Greenwood, both of Waukegan, Ill., Arthur
Greenwood of Kenosha, Wisc., William J. Scott III of Zion, Ill.,
Quincey Scott of Byhalia, Phanon Greenwood of Olive Branch; six
daughters, Barbara Henry of Byhalia, Linda Greenwood of Chicago, Ill.,
Shirley Scott, Beverly Greenwood, both of Chicago, Ill., Jackie
Santanna of Zion, Ill., Brenda of North Chicago, Ill.; two brothers,
Edward Scott, Howard Scott of Waukegan, Ill.; a sister, Ola Houston of
Panola, Ala.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by three brothers, Horace, James and Robert
Scott; and three sisters, Bertha Mae Stokes, Alice Garrett and Margret
Rigsbee. Pallbearers were Patrick Warren,
Cleveland Givens, Howard Scott Jr., Bernard Jedkins, Avery Greenwood
and Jarris Scott. Honorary pallbearers were Calvin Scott and David

JimElla Wilson, 53,
of Byhalia, died Dec. 9, 2009 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis,
Tenn. She was born Oct. 9, 1956 in DeSoto County. Services
were held at 12 noon on Dec. 15 at Concorde MB Church in Slayden.
Burial was in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home was in charge
of arrangements. She leaves her husband, Willie
Wilson Sr.; two sons, Willie Wilson Jr. of Memphis, Tenn., Reginald
Wilson of Ohio; a daughter, Tonya Wilson of Memphis, Tenn.; two
brothers, James Anderson of Byhalia, Winborn Anderson Jr. of Memphis,
Tenn.; four sisters, Rosie Garrison of Memphis, Tenn., Geraldine Young,
Shirley Wilkins of Byhalia; Angela Tunstall of Byhalia; and 10
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Earnest Anderson. Pallbearers
were Antonio Anderson, Tarus Anderson, Derrick Anderson, James
Tunstall, Cordell Anderson, and Roderick Rayford. Honorary pallbearers
were Willie Lee Wilson Sr., Willie Lee Wilson Jr. and Reginald Wilson.
