‘Ratepayers’
Forum’ Thursday at courthouse
Brandon
Presley, Northern District public service commissioner, announces a
“Ratepayers’ Forum” Thursday, Dec. 10, at
the Marshall County
Courthouse in Holly Springs from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The
event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
This
town-hall type meeting in Holly Springs is one in a series of events
Presley has scheduled across the district in the coming months to hear
directly from ratepayers and the general public.
“I
wanted to give people a chance to come and talk to me, one on one,
about their concerns regarding high utility rates and service, and how
that affects their lives and businesses,” Presley
said. “I also wanted
to provide a forum where I can speak directly to the public about
utility issues facing the PSC today and the major reforms I believe are
necessary, and I want to give them the chance to ask their
questions.”
In
addition to updating the public on current issues, Presley plans to
discuss his recently proposed “Ratepayers’ Bill of
Rights,” financial
assistance programs available to low-income ratepayers, as well as
updates on the No Call Law and many other consumer-related topics.
