Byhalia chamber luncheon scheduled for Thursday
The Byhalia Area Chamber of
Commerce will host its Quarterly Membership Networking Luncheon
Thursday, January 29.
Keynote speaker
will be Lynn Duncan, CITRMS, talking on the topic, “Identity
Theft:
Could You Be Next?” Duncan is Managing Partner with
“ID Theft Solutions
of America.”
Chamber members and employers
will
learn what identity theft is and how to deal with it if it happens to
them. Sponsor will be John LoPreto, senior business advisor, Solomon
Strategic Advisors.
The luncheon will be held at
the First Baptist Church fellowship hall, 2555 Church Street in
Byhalia. Networking and buffet begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program
starts at 12 p.m.

County school board to meet February 10 at
Potts Camp
The
Marshall County Board of Education will meet for the regular board
meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m. at Potts Camp School, 7050
Church Avenue, Potts Camp.
Candidate qualifying open for municipal
elections
Qualifying is open for those who
want to seek mayor and board of aldermen positions in Holly Springs,
Byhalia and Potts Camp.
The deadline for signing up to
run for an office is Friday, March 6, at 5 p.m.
Each candidate must be a
qualified voter and resident of the city or ward for which he or she is
seeking office.
The
primary elections will be held Tuesday, May 5, with a runoff date of
Tuesday, May 19. Municipal general elections are slated for Tuesday,
June 2.
The new four-year term for city
elected officials will begin Monday, July 6.
City of Holly Springs voters will
choose a mayor, an alderman at-large, and aldermen for Wards 1, 2, 3
and 4.
Voters in the towns of Byhalia
and Potts Camp will pick a mayor and five aldermen at-large.

Area job fair is March 3 on Rust campus in
Holly Springs
The annual Marshall-Benton Area
Job Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, at the McMillan Gym on the
campus of Rust College.
