Tour of homes,
parade set for early December
The
annual Christmas in Holly Springs tour will be held Saturday, Dec. 5,
and Sunday, Dec. 6.
On
the tour this year are Finley Place, Montrose, Wall Doxey House,
Fairview, Walthall-Freeman Clark House. To obtain tickets, contact the
Marshall County Historical Museum at 662-252-3669.
Also
open will be the historical museum, Ida B. Wells Museum and Church of
the Yellow Fever Martyrs. Concerts will be held Dec. 5 and 6 at 2 p.m.
at First Presbyterian Church.
Christmas
Dinner
Theater will be held at the First Baptist Church Activity Center on
Dec. 4-6. It will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, and at 5:30
p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5-6. For reservations, call

The
downtown Christmas parade is
set for Saturday, Dec. 5, starting at 5 p.m. To enter the holiday
parade, call the chamber of commerce at 662-252-2943.
Government
offices closing for holidays
Marshall
County offices, along with its municipalities (Potts Camp, Holly
Springs and Byhalia) announce holiday closings.
County
and city government offices will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov.
26-27, for Thanksgiving holidays; Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24-25, for
Christmas holidays; and Thursday and Friday, Dec. 31, 2009-Jan. 1,
2010, for New Year’s holidays.
Organizers set
date for seventh annual job fair
Area
volunteers and civic group leaders are on the go again to sign up
employers for the seventh annual Marshall-Benton Area Job Fair, to be
held in the McMillan Gym at Rust College March 4, 2010.
“We
expect this to be an excellent opportunity for you to meet the
employment needs of your company,” said Joe Buckner, director
of the
Governor’s Job Fair Network. “This event is open to
job seekers from
the general public as well as university, college and community college
graduates. In addition, we are continuing our efforts to attract
military service members and their spouses from the United States
military installations in Mississippi and throughout our
nation.”
Employers
who expect to have job openings are invited to register on-line at
www.jobfairs.ms.gov by February 4, 2010.
The
next planning meeting is at noon December 18 at
Annie’s Restaurant.
