By BARRY BURLESON
The Potts Camp Lady Cardinals take a Thanksgiving break this week with an unblemished record.
“We’re off to a good start,” coach Tana Miller said about her team’s 6-0 mark. “We’re playing pretty well, but we still have a lot of work and a lot of games ahead of us.”
Last week the Lady Cardinals defeated Hickory Flat, Wheeler and Pine Grove – the thriller being an overtime win Friday night at Wheeler. The Potts Camp boys went 1-2 against the same schools.
The Lady Cardinals coasted to a 71-41 win November 17 at Benton County rival Hickory Flat.
Scoring in double figures were Samantha Stinson with 16, Ashton Gandy with 13 and Nieshia Stinson with 12.

Coach Miller called it a “crazy game” Friday at Wheeler as her squad let a lead slip away and then won 93-84 in overtime.
The Lady Cards were up by 10 in the first half and then found themselves down by 10 in the second half.
“That was a 20-point swing,” she said. “We did not play well defensively.”
But with the game tied at 79 at the end of regulation, Potts Camp outscored Wheeler 14-5 in the extra period to escape with the victory.
Kenyotta Jenkins was the top gun for the Lady Cardinals. She scored 29. Other leading scorers were Samantha Stinson with 15, Zana Davis with 12, Lamonica Ingram with 11 and Gandy with 10.
