Tour of homes,
parade scheduled Dec. 5-6
The annual Christmas in
Holly Springs tour will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6. On
the tour this year are Finley Place, Montrose, Wall Doxey House,
Fairview, Walthall-Freeman Clark House. To obtain tickets, contact the
Marshall County Historical Museum at 662-252-3669. Also open will
be the historical museum, Ida B. Wells Museum and Church of the Yellow
Fever Martyrs. Concerts will be held Dec. 5 and 6 at 2 p.m. at First
Presbyterian Church. Christmas Dinner Theater
will be held at the
First Baptist Church Activity Center on Dec. 4, 5 and 6. It will start
at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, and at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and
Sunday, Dec. 5-6. For reservations, call 662-252-2627. The
downtown Christmas parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 5, starting at 5

Byhalia chamber
hosts activities next week
The
Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Chamber
Celebration Thursday, Nov. 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at BardenStone, 89
Edwards Road. There will be music by
“Blue Denim,” plus awards
presentations for Leader of the Year, Board Member of the Year and
Customer Service of the Year. Chamber sponsors will be recognized, plus
the celebration features prizes and much more. Call 662-838-8172 before
November 17 for reservations ($15 per person). The cost is $20 without
a reservation. The
next night, Friday, Nov. 20, the Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce will
hosts Tree Lighting with Santa. It starts at 5:30 p.m. downtown on
Brunswick Avenue at the park. Activities will include holiday music,
photos with Santa ($5), and free hot dogs and drinks. The town of Byhalia
features a “brand new” lighting display downtown
donated by LCI Inc.
Power outage
slated for Saturday in Ashland
On
Saturday, Nov. 14, the Holly Springs Utility Department will be turning
the power off in the Ashland area from 10 p.m. to 12 midnight to work
on the Ashland substation. This is a scheduled
power outage,
according to superintendent George N. Humphreys, and the Holly Springs
Utility Department wanted to inform its Ashland customers.
