Holly Springs officers make several arrests The Holly Springs police
force made five arrests last
week and investigated
numerous burglaries,
according to chief Robert
Pearson. Two people, Emma
Luellen Kimble, 32, and
Corey Monte Jackson, 24, of
Holly Springs, were arrested
Wednesday, Oct. 28, and
charged with grand larceny,
Pearson said. Joshua Beard, 21, of Potts
Camp, was arrested
Thursday, Oct. 29, and
charged with armed robbery,
the chief said. Melvin Sledge, 19, of
Holly Springs, was arrested
Thursday, Oct. 29, and
charged with aggravated
assault and armed robbery,
Pearson said. Cedric Dowdy Jr., 18, of
Holly Springs, was arrested
Friday, Oct. 30, and charged
with simple assault on a
police officer/school official.
Officers investigated the
following additional reports
of crime. an attempted burglary
Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the
600 block of Highway 7
South. Nothing was found
missing but the front door
lock was damaged. an armed robbery in the
100 block of Rust Avenue
Thursday, Oct. 29. The victim
stated a male subject wearing
all black clothing had
snatched her purse. an auto burglary
Thursday, Oct. 29, in the 700
block of Highway 7 North.
The business owner discovered
a black Ford Mustang
Custom GT broken into.
Taken was a stereo system
and DVD player, television,
two 12-inch speakers, two
amplifiers and an equalizer.
Also missing were a NITTO
45-35-20 tire and one WANLI
45-35-20 tire. a burglary in the 100
block of South Spring Street.
A small amount of cash was
missing from the owner’s
purse. a burglary in the 200
block of West College
Saturday, Oct. 31. Nothing
was missing but heavy damage
was done to the building.
Officers responded to the
following activities: driving
while license suspended, 3;
no proof of insurance, 3;
speeding, 3; expired tag, 1;
DUI, 1; DUI refuse test, 1;
public drunk, 1; malicious
mischief, 1; and domestic violence
simple assault, 1.
