Hutchens plays for North all-stars
Ali Hutchens of Marshall Academy competed in the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools all-star game at Jackson Academy on Wednesday, Oct 14.
She saw playing time at three different junctures of the game for a total of 35 minutes.
“Her first time in she did really well and made some nice passes,” said her coach at MA, Lance McGregor. “For her second stint you could tell the nerves really hit her. But she came on strong for her third time on the field, and she played some valuable minutes and did a nice job of controlling the ball and making crisp passes. Also during her time in the game she was the primary selection on throw-ins.
“I was really pleased with the way she played and represented the school, especially considering the fact all the other girls were four or five inches taller than her.”
The South won the game 4-3, however, during Hutchens’ time on the field the North outscored the South 2-0.
