Reminder to ‘fall back;’
time changes Sunday
Daylight Saving Time ends this
Sunday, Nov. 1, at 2 a.m.
Everyone is reminded to wind
their clocks backward one hour before going to bed Saturday night.
Standard Time will last only a
few months – as Daylight Saving Time will return on Sunday,
March 14, 2010, at 2 a.m.
Christmas tour slated for Dec. 5-6 in city
It’s not too early to
start thinking about Christmas, particularly activities of the holiday
season.
The annual Christmas in Holly
Springs tour will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, and Sunday, Dec. 6.
On the tour this year are Finley
Place, Montrose, Wall Doxey House, Fairview and Walthall-Freeman Clark
Place.
To obtain tickets, contact the
Marshall County Historical Museum in Holly Springs at 662-252-3669.
If purchased in advance of
November 28, tickets are $15 ($12 each for groups of 10 or more). After
November 28, tickets are $20.
Also,
Christmas Dinner Theater (not included in above price) will be held at
the Holly Springs First Baptist Church Recreation Building on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4, 5 and 6, at 7 p.m. For reservations, call

The Holly Springs downtown
Christmas parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 5, starting at 5 p.m. For
more information or to enter the holiday parade, call the chamber of
commerce at 662-252-2943.
Parks and recreation schedules activities
The Holly Springs Parks and
Recreation Department announces some upcoming activities.
There
will be a Halloween Dog Costume Contest Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at
the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building. Entry fee is $5.
The deadline for registration
will be Thursday, Oct. 29, at 6:30 p.m.
All dogs must be registered and
on a leash.
The
Holly Springs Parks and Recreation Department will also be having a
Pre-Thanksgiving Dance for senior citizens ages 55 years and older on
Friday, Nov. 6, from 7 p.m. until.
The attire for the dance is
semi-formal and admission is free.
This event will be held at the
Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Building and the DJ will be John Faulkner
(J Faulk).
