Police investigate attempted robbery
The Holly Springs Police Department investigated five incidents last week.
A burglary call in the 300 block of Salem was investigated and nothing was found missing.
A grand larceny of a 1997 red, Ford Ranger short wheel base pickup was reported in the 100 block of Clarice Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Officers responded to a business burglary in the 100 block of E. College October 7. Two Dell laptop computers and two Cisco wireless adapters were reported stolen.
Police investigated an attempted armed robbery in the 100 block of Memphis. The victim was attacked by an unknown black male and the suspect fired several shots at the victim.
Police answered a call to the scene of a vehicle accident in the 300 block of Chesterman in which a vehicle ran into a house. Several subjects were seen running away from the scene after the crash.
Other activities reported for the week included – expired tag (1); no proof of insurance (1); and speeding (2).

Callers do not have to give law enforcement their names when leaving tips and may be entitled to a reward of up to $1,000.
