White Oak
Festival set for Saturday in Byhalia
The
28th annual White Oak Festival, hosted by Byhalia Sports Association
and the Byhalia Lions Club, will take place on Saturday, October 10,
from 10 a.m. until.
It
will include crafts,
displays, food, games, activities for kids and adults, raffles, live
entertainment and many prizes. Tommy Woods’ barbecue will be available
at this year’s festival. To reserve your whole barbecued Boston butt
($25) to be picked up at the festival, please call 901 246-8843

Byhalia
Sports
Association will raffle off an opportunity to have the Polka Dot Bakery
create your next beautifully decorated cake for a special occasion.
Entertainment
includes Byhalia pompom squads, a talent competition and much more.
Northcentral
Electric Power Association, Citizens Bank, CenturyTel, Merchants and
Farmers Bank, Farm Bureau, Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce, and Health
1st Family Medical Clinic, the sponsors of the festival, encourage
everyone to attend the big event at the corner of Edwards Road and
Lowry Drive off Highway 178 near the industrial park. Admission is free
with a $2 per car parking fee on the grounds.
Booths
are on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be reserved without
payment. To ensure you have a space for your booth, please call
immediately as spaces are filling up quickly. Concession spaces are
already filled. Applications for other booth spaces ($30) are available
from Janice at 901-246-8843 or at the Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce
office Monday through Thursday. Call the numbers referenced above with

Friends of
Library plan benefit yard sale
Friends
of the Marshall County Library will sponsor a benefit yard sale on
Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The
yard sale, with all proceeds benefiting the library, will be held at
Christ Episcopal Church parish house on North Randolph Street in Holly
Springs.
Funfest this
Saturday at Holy Family School
Holy
Family School, 395 N. West Street in Holly Springs, will host Funfest
’09 Saturday, Oct. 10, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
There
will be games, rides, raffle, country store, auction and more. Come and
enjoy an afternoon of food and fun for the entire family.
