| Police make drug arrest Holly Springs police reported one drug-related arrest and three burglary incidents for the week ending October 5. Steven
Hampton, 35, of Holly Springs, was arrested Tuesday, Sept. 29, and
charged with possession of cocaine, according to chief Robert Pearson.
Bond for Hampton was set at $2,500. Two residences and a business were burglarized last week. Books,
jewelry, a camera, blank checks, a cell phone and purses were reported
missing following a burglary in the 200 block of McCoy Avenue Tuesday,
Sept. 29. Entry to the home was made through a kitchen window and an
unlocked door. A wallet and about $50 in cash was
reported missing following a burglary of a home in the 100 block of
Gholson Avenue Friday, Oct. 2. Entry was made through a window. A
business in the 800 block of Highway 178 East was burglarized October
3. Personal items were found outside a window used to enter the
business. Officers issued the following citations
for the week – reckless driving (1); speeding (6); expired tag/no tag
(6); suspended driver’s license (4); no insurance (4); suspended
driver’s license - IC (1); improper passing (1); ran stop sign (1); and
careless driving (1). The following
misdemeanors were issued – domestic assault (2); public drunk (1);
simple assault (4); stalking (2); petit larceny (2); threat (3);
