| Armed robbery, burglaries reported The Holly Springs Police Department reports an armed robbery and three residential burglaries last week. An
armed robbery was reported to have taken place Thursday, Sept. 24,
outside Quick Stop Grocery on Highway 7 North, according to chief
Robert Pearson. The victim stated he was approached by two black males
as he was leaving the store and one of them had a handgun. The victim
said he was struck multiple times and thieves took $700 in cash from
him and left the scene. The first residential
burglary of the week occurred Friday, Sept. 25, in the 300 block of
Salem Avenue, Pearson said. Entry to the home was through a side window
that was broken out. Nothing was reported missing. A
second residential burglary was reported Friday, Sept. 25, in the 100
block of Briarwood Avenue. Thieves broke out a back bathroom window and
took a birthday present, a bottle of champagne and a bottle of beer. The
third home burglary occurred Saturday, Sept. 26, in the 200 block of
North West Boundary. The homeowner escaped through a bedroom window
after hearing someone breaking in the kitchen door. Nothing was taken. Anyone
with information concerning any of the above incidents is asked to

provide their name when providing tips to law enforcement and
information provided is kept strictly confidential. The
following citations were issued last week – no/suspended driver’s
license (2); no/expired tag (2); suspended driver’s license DUI (1); no
insurance (3); speeding (1); and ran stop sign/light (1). The
following misdemeanors were reported for the week – stalking (1);
malicious mischief (1); simple assault (3); petit larceny (2); domestic
violence (1); and grand larceny (1).
