Angela
Goode, Marshall County’s “Teacher of the Year 2008-09,” has been a
fifth grade teacher at Potts Camp School for 27 years. In all those
years, she has taught in only two, self-contained classrooms. “The only time I’ve changed rooms has been when they moved the elementary to the new building,” Goode said. Goode
is married to Greg Goode, who works for FedEx in Tupelo. Their daughter
Georganna is in her third year in college in Tupelo. Goode
received her Associate of Arts in 1979 from Northeast Community College
and a bachelor of arts in education from the University of Mississippi
in 1981. She has also attended workshops during her teaching career. “My mother and father encouraged me to go into teaching,” she said. “And every year is a new challenge. “The rewards of teaching are their smiles and thank yous and the drawings and letters they make for me. “My kitchen is covered with drawings, etc. It makes me proud just to look at them. “My rewards are my children’s achievements!” | Photo by Linda Jones | Goode’s class
