Lucille B. Anderson
Lucille B. Anderson, 67, of Memphis,
Tenn., died Jan. 9, 2009 at Baptist Hospital. She was a Baptist and a
housekeeper with Shelby Co. Healthcare.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 15
at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest
Cemetery.
She leaves two daughters, Marilyn
Gibson of Memphis, Tenn., Carolyn Anderson of Minco, Okla.; a brother,
Howard Benard of Brownsville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
Birdie M. Colston
Birdie M. Colston, 81, of Holly
Springs, died Jan. 16, 2009 at Trinity Missions Nursing Home. She was
the widow of James Howard Colston. She was a member of Calvary Baptist
Church and a factory worker with Sunbeam Corp.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan.
20 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest
Cemetery. Bro. John Prothro officiated.
She leaves a son, James David Colston
of Greensboro, N.C.; a daughter, Nell C. Rhea of Holly Springs; three
grandsons, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Bettye Lou Cox
Bettye Lou Cox, 65, of Hickory Flat,
died Jan. 18, 2009 at Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Cornerstone
Baptist Church.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 19
at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Chewalla Cemetery.
Bro. Jimmy Wilbanks officiated.
She leaves her husband, Roger Cox; a
son, Tim Cox of Potts Camp; two daughters, Lisa Bolden of Holly
Springs, Christie Jumper of Etta; three brothers, Russell Young of
Vermillion, Ohio, Ronnie Young of Hernando, Billy Young of Franklin,
Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother,
Jimmy Dale Young.
Lloyd Duane Day
Lloyd Duane (Coot) Day, 73, of Hickory
Flat, died Jan. 16, 2009 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was a
member of Winborn United Methodist Church, owner and operator of
Nichols Grocery, president of the board of trustees of Winborn United
Methodist Church and church lay leader.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 18
at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Potts Camp
Cemetery. Bro. Brownie Tohill officiated.
He leaves his wife, Hilda Day; a
stepson, John M. Baker and wife Dana of Ripley; two stepdaughters,
Lynette Palmer and husband Mark of Booneville, Barbara Taylor and
husband Bobby of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Lamar Day and wife
Mabel of Potts Camp, Jerry Day and wife Mary Ann of Holly
Springs.
He was preceded in death by a brother,
Kelly Day.

William Brooks Dickson
William Brooks Dickson, 67, of Holly
Springs, died Jan. 16, 2009. He was a member of Broadway Baptist
Church, a manufacturing industrial engineer for 20 years and an Air
Force veteran.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan.
19 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Temperance Hill
Cemetery in Potts Camp.
He leaves his wife, Trudy Dickson; two
sons, William B. (Beau) Dickson of Southaven, Spence Hood of Olive
Branch; three daughters, Kim Sisk, Wendy Smith, both of Corning, Ark.,
Dana Bishop of Olive Branch; two sisters, Sheryl German of Ringold,
Ga., Janice Brisco of Holly Springs; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister,
Betty Smith; a brother, Kenith Dickson; and grandson, Caleb Bishop.
Sue Davis Johnson
Sue Davis Johnson, 74, of Ashland, died
Jan. 17, 2009. She was a seamstress.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Jan.
21 at Ashland Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial was in
Ashland Cemetery. Bro. Don Brown officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home
was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves her husband, Norman R.
Johnson; a daughter, Sherry Rushing of Humbolt, Tenn.; and two
grandchildren.
William Freeman Miller
William Freeman Miller, 77, of
Collierville, Tenn., died Jan. 19, 2009 at Baptist Hospital East in
Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of the Marlow Church of Christ in
Walnut. Until he was 19, he worked as a farmer and later as a machine
operator at a shirt lining factory.
Services were held at 3 pm. on Jan. 21
at the Marlow Church of Christ. Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery. Jimmy
Gross officiated. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Bolivar, Tenn., was
in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Alline;
four daughters, Judy Gurley of Potts camp, Pam White of Benton County,
Ark., Ann Miller, Betty Wilson, both of Collierville; a son, Larry
Miller of Marion, Ark.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister,
Betty Lou Miller.

Annie Eula Tomlinson
Annie Eula Tomlinson, 90, of Holly
Springs, died Jan. 16, 2009 at Tri-Co. Health Care in Adamsville, Tenn.
She was the widow of Cecil Tomlinson, a member of First Baptist Church
of Holly Springs. She was employed with Bell Telephone and Wurlitzer.
Services were held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 19
at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Hill Crest Cemetery
Dr. Curtis Ferrell officiated.
She leaves her son, Kenneth Tomlinson
of Holly Springs; a daughter, Phoebe Wayne of Counce, Tenn.; two
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
