• pizza party for children, ages 3 to 10, of the community will be held at the Victoria United Methodist Church fellowship hall, Friday, Sept. 4. A time of fun and games with pizza, and sometimes a movie. Come join in the fun.

• 4-H Exhibit day for the Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club on the courthouse lawn in Holly Springs, 8 a.m. until.

• Youth explosion Christ Temple COGIC youth department will host a Youth Explosion 2009 musical, Sept. 4, 7:30 p.m., featuring 2Gether (Blake and Jessica White) of Memphis, Tenn., along with other featured performers.

September 5

• Singing Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church, 3993 Cayce Rd. Featured singers will be Traveling Grace from Hamilton, Ala., Sat., Sept. 5, 7 p.m. Pastor Billy Watkins invites everyone to attend.

• REUNION The family of the late Estelle Glass Faulkner and the late Annie Glass Craine will hold their annual family reunion at the home of Eliza Mae Craine, Hwy. 309 S., south of Byhalia. All family and friends are invited.

• Singing Chewalla Baptist Church, Holly Springs, Sept. 5, featuring The Masters Quartet. Fellowship meal at 5:30, singing at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcomed.

• Clean up time Sponsored by the Ida B. Wells-Barnett Museum and the Holly Springs Federated Improvement Club, Sat., Sept. 5, 7 a.m. Pick up trash, sweep street, cut weeds, etc. There will also be a back to school give-away. • Youth Day Christ Temple COGIC, Sun., Sept. 6, 3 p.m. with special guests Apostle Kevin Davidson and Dominion. The public is cordially invited.

• Women’s Month True Vine MB Church, 525 West St, will host its annual Women’s Month during the month of September. Guest evangelist, Louise Moore, will deliver the message on the first Sunday during morning worship at 11 a.m. You are urged to attend. Host pastor, Darrell E. Cunningham.

• Meeting The Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library, 6 p.m. Everyone interested in becoming a member is invited to attend.

• PTA meeting Holly Springs Intermediate School, Thurs., Sept. 10, in the library, 5:30 p.m. All parents with children at the school are encouraged to attend. Shelia Walton, president.

• Relay for Life meeting The Marshall County Chapter of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life will meet Sept. 10, 5:30 p.m., at the Town and Country “Little Sunday School” building, next door to City Hall. Members and friends are invited to attend.

September 12

• Canine Obedience classes will begin at 9 a.m. at the Holly Springs Fire Department. The six-week class offered by K-9 Search One teaches dogs basic good manners, and how to respond to simple commands. Bring dog, choke chain collar, leash, and rabies, distemper, parvo virus shot records to first class. Call 252-1004 for more information.

• Ushers Day Bibleway Outreach on Hwy. 178 in Byhalia will be having their annual Ushers Day on September 20, 3 p.m. Our guest speaker will be Pastor Kenneth Artison from St. Matthew MB church in Byhalia. Come and be blessed. Pastor is Bishop Renzil Barringer.

• 5th Annual White Oak Pageant will be held for boys ages 0-4 and girls ages 0-21. Applications available at local schools or the Byhalia Chamber of Commerce. Deadline for entering September 19, 6 p.m.

• Singing Rice Chapel UMC will have a benefit singing and spaghetti dinner to raise funds for replacement of roof. Singing will begin at 3:30. Dinner will be served 5:30 to 7 p.m. for $8 per plate.
