• Meeting Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library at 6 p.m. New members welcome; age 8-18.

• PTA MEETING H.W. Byers PTA will host its first annual PTA meeting for this school year, 6 p.m. at the school. The PTA will host a booth to kick-start membership and will host concession stand during the Green and White football game on August 28. All participation gladly appreciated. PTA president is Elain Billingsley.

• Orientation Friendship Christian Academy’s orientation will be 6-7:30 p.m. (Please, no children). We ask that all parents please attend.

• Meet the Hawks Thurs., Aug. 27, 6 p.m. at Sam Coopwood Park. The community is invited.

August 29

• Spaghetti supper The Victoria United Methodist Church will have a dine-in spaghetti supper for the community to come, eat and fellowship with one another, a time to meet your neighbors and get to know one another. Starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. Please join us.

• Back to school The Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant Youth Department is hosting a back to school community fest on the new church land, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. There will be singing, rides, delicious food and prizes. The public is invited. Pastor is Elder Curtis Pritchard Sr.

• St. Mary’s/CADET/Holy Family Reunion Committee 2010 is calling on all former classmates, schoolmates, alumni, current and former faculty and staff to join in at the Spring Hollow Walking Trail behind the Eddie Smith Multi-Purpose Bldg. in Holly Springs every Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. for a walk together. • Back to school Friendship Christian Academy’s first day back to school: FCA will begin the school term at 7:40 a.m. with full days. We are glad to welcome all of our new and returning students for another great year at FCA.

• PTO meeting The Potts Camp and Mary Reid Parent-Teacher Organization is having its first meeting Monday, August 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the Potts Camp School Library. The purpose of this meeting is to elect new officers. We will also use this opportunity to discuss upcoming events and future plans for the schools. Please make your plans to be a part of the PTO this year. We look forward to seeing you Monday night at 6:30 p.m.

• Friends meeting The Friends of the Marshall County Library will meet Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the Marshall County Library in Holly Springs. The speaker will be popular author Robert Dalby, creator of the “Piggly Wiggly” books. He will talk about and sign copies of his newest book, “A Piggly Wiggly Wedding.” The business meeting is at 11:30, and the program will begin at 12 noon. The public is welcome to attend the program, to share the fun and refreshments.
