The Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce plans lots of fun downtown this Saturday evening, Aug. 15. Sounds of Summer will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair. The
event will feature a street dance, grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, a
cake walk, snow cones and shaved ice, karaoke by Rockin’ Robert,
children’s and adults’ games, door prizes and more. Those
who have a favorite song to sing should bring the favorite CD. Gospel
hour is from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and karaoke with Rockin’ Robert is from 7
p.m. to 9 p.m. Parking will be available on
Brunswick Avenue, at Highway 309 and 78, on Church Street, at Citizens
Bank and across from the Thistledome Inn. Event
sponsors are Citizens Bank, Century Tel, Northcentral EPA, Griffin
Industries, Hughes Brothers Plumbing, A&B Distributing, R&L
Treasures, Trinity Missions of Great Oaks and the town of Byhalia. For more information about the activities Saturday, call 662-838-8127. Proceeds
from the Sounds of Summer benefit the projects and programs of the
Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce. Everyone is urged to join the fun. The
same day, Saturday, August 15, there will be an antique car show
sponsored by the Marshall County Republican Club. Registration starts
at 8 a.m. Judging will begin at 1 p.m. with awards presented at 4 p.m.
The car show will be located on Brunswick Avenue. |
